Vancouver man loses appeal to not be declared a dangerous offender

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A Vancouver man has lost his appeal to no longer be designated a dangerous offender after a BC Court of Appeal decision.

Ibata Noric Hexamer, who abducted and sexually assaulted at least three underage girls, plead guilty in 2012.

The judgement states the “appellant abducted them from the street in broad daylight and confined or sexually assaulted them. The offences were predatory, violent and profoundly invasive of the physical integrity and emotional security of the young victims. The appellant dominated his victims, forcing them to perform or witness acts that inflicted significant psychological damage. As is evident, the offending conduct occurred over a period of 14 years.”

The BC Court of Appeal decision stated Hexamer had shown little remorse for his crimes and that the lower court judge was correct in setting an indefinite jail term.

Hexamer is a former COPE civic party worker.
