Gannett building incident deemed a ‘non-event’ by police

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA. (NEWS 1130) – The search for a possible armed man at the offices of the company that owns USA Today has ended.

Police in Fairfax County, Virginia, say they’ve concluded a search of the Gannett building in McLean, and haven’t found “any evidence that a crime occurred.”

The building was evacuated earlier on Wednesday after there were reports a man had entered with some kind of a weapon.

Police said a man was being questioned after he was found in another area.
