Motorcycle rider dies after hitting deer on highway near Kamloops, RCMP seeking witnesses

KAMLOOPS (NEWS 1130) — A motorcycle rider has died after hitting a deer, falling off the motorcycle, and being struck by one or more vehicles on Friday.

The Kamloops RCMP was called to the scene on Highway 1 near the Lafarge Exit at around 9 p.m. on August 9.

“A westbound motorcycle was travelling along the highway when it hit a deer causing the lone rider to fall off. The rider was then struck by one or more vehicles,” says a release.

“It is believed that the drivers of vehicles that struck the rider may not have realized that they had done so.”

The RCMP is asking anyone who was in the area at the time to call the Central Interior Traffic Services at (250) 828-3111.
