Pile of cars burns at Surrey recycling yard

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Firefighters in Surrey managed to put out a large blaze burning at a car recycling yard on Saturday night.

A plume of smoke could be seen from several kilometres away as a pile of cars and some nearby trees went up in flames on Scott Road near Old Yale Road.

The fire was put out by 11 p.m., and the cause is still under investigation.

Someone nearby had told fire crews they thought they saw someone on top of the pile of cars, but there’s been no sign of them since. That tip is being investigated.
