LANGLEY (NEWS 1130) – An online fundraiser for the family of a teenager who apparently died of a drug overdose in Langley has already raised more than $25,000 to help with funeral expenses.

Carson Crimeni died last week after hanging out with other teens, who appear to have filmed him instead of helping him when he showed signs of a drug overdose while at the Walnut Grove Skate Park.

According to the GoFundMe page which was started by Julie Nakahara, who says she has known his family for decades, it is not clear whether this tragedy could have been avoided.

“Carson’s passing is a tragedy that no family should have to endure,” the page says. “Many of you may have seen the numerous news articles which have emerged which provide some information about Carson’s last hours. While the circumstances surrounding his death are still being investigated, it is not clear whether this tragedy could have been avoided. It is heartbreaking to learn that Carson may have been visibly suffering while people taunted, filmed and photographed him instead of calling for help.”
