Crow causes power outage in New West

NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS 1130) — We now know what caused a power outage Monday night in parts of New Westminster that had a number of people on social media expressing their frustration: a crow.

Somehow, it found its way into the city substation, causing a fault and knocking out a feeder.

As for the culprit, the city says “the crow succumbed to its injuries.”

It comes a little more than a month after a wide-spread outage left two-thirds of the city in the dark.
