Senior punched in the face and robbed in Vernon: RCMP

VERNON (NEWS 1130) — An 84-year-old man was punched in the face and robbed in the Vernon area late last month, and now, police say an arrest has been made.

It happened on July 27th, as the senior was walking down an alley.

He was confronted by someone he didn’t know, who attacked him, knocking him to the ground.

However, two days later, a man was arrested after someone broke into a truck, then ran away, and police say that person was a suspect in the earlier assault and robbery.

A 20 year old man from Vernon is now facing numerous charges.

The individual remain in custody, as he awaits his next court appearance.
