MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS 1130) – A Maple Ridge father is desperately hoping someone will return his lost cross pendant – which contains his late son’s ashes.
David Roberge was at the Langley Good Times Cruise-In on Saturday, when he suddenly noticed his cross pendant was missing.
“The cross is not an overly expensive cross, it’s just that you’re wearing your son around your neck,” he says, adding he is hopeful anyone who spots it will come forward.
“You don’t know whether to just sink down and cry. There’s absolutely nothing you can do about it,” he says. “A couple of friends of mine, we walked back the way we thought we came with our heads down looking. We never did see anything.”

His son Brad died in 2014, and since then both Roberge and his wife have worn pendants with their son’s ashes to remember him. He says losing it felt like losing his son again.
“It’s just an empty feeling,” he says. “It means the world to me and not much to anyone else.”
Roberge is hopeful anyone who spots it will come forward.

The cross is silver, about one inch by three quarter inches in size and may have dropped to the ground at the Cruise-In.
