Wilson-Raybould interviewed by RCMP in SNC-Lavalin investigation: reports

By

VANCOUVER (680 NEWS) – Liberal leader Justin Trudeau will likely be facing more questions on the SNC-Lavalin file as The Globe and Mail reports former Attorney General Jody Wilson-Raybould has been interviewed by the RCMP.

Investigators met with Wilson-Raybould earlier this week in Vancouver after previously speaking with her by telephone. However, she tells The Globe and Mail she could not go into details with Mounties since the Trudeau government has not waived cabinet confidentiality, which would have allowed her and others to province more information.

Wilson-Raybould has shifted her stance on a full police investigation into political interference in the SNC file following the release of Ethics Commissioner Mario Dion’s report, which found Trudeau in violation of federal ethics laws.

While the Liberal leader said following the start of the campaign Wednesday that the decision to issue a waiver is up to the Clerk of the Privy Council, Conservative leader Andrew Scheer said it’s within the power of the prime minister to give full access.

With the election campaign now underway, the RCMP has put the investigation into the SNC-Lavalin affair on hold.
