VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Hateful graffiti has been found written on the campaign office window of a Vancouver Liberal candidate.
Dr. Hedy Fry, who has held the Vancouver-Center riding since 1993, says this is not the community she knows and loves.
“It’s not something that I’ve come across. I have practiced medicine here for many years. I have many patients. It’s just sad. I find it sad, that’s the only thing I can think about,” she says.

Mr. Scheer doesn’t like it when his candidate’s racist posts are revealed.

She adds it was surprising to see this happen here.
“I’m quite disappointed that in 2019, here in Vancouver-Centre, in Canada, that someone would write a hateful message like that,” she says.
Fry says she doesn’t know why her office was targeted, but over the weekend, Fry posted a screenshot of an old Facebook comment by Nanaimo-Ladysmith Candidate John Hirst. He apparently posted a gif with Denzel Washington’s face, and what appears to be the same racial slur.
The graffiti was found Tuesday morning and has since been taken down.
