4-year-old falls from third floor window in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — A 4-year-old is in hospital after falling out of a third-storey window in Surrey Saturday afternoon.

The window had a screen, but it gave way when the child fell into it while climbing on furniture, according to police.

“The child fell through the 3rd story window, landing on grassy area in front of the residence,” say Surrey RCMP. “The injuries were non-life threatening, with a fracture being the most serious injury. The child is believed to make a full recovery.”

Police and paramedics were called to the Guildford area around 3:30 p.m.

The child was taken to hospital and police interviewed witnesses and family members.

Mounties are reminding parents of young children to double check that doors and windows are secure.
