NEWS 1130 Worst Commute winner drives from Mission to Vancouver and back

MISSION (NEWS 1130) – This week’s winner in Vancouver’s Worst Commute contest says it’s a good thing she loves her job!

Lori Seifried drives from the Hatzic area of Mission into downtown Vancouver and back five days a week.

“I am on the road at 4:30 a.m. and arrive downtown at 5:50 a.m.,” she says, adding the mornings aren’t too bad.

It’s the way home that’s the problem.

“I usually leave the office at 3:50 p.m. and providing everyone behaves on the road, which is hardly ever, I’m home at 6:00 p.m. Bad traffic, then I’m lucky if I’m home by 6:45 to basically eat and go to bed and repeat the next day,” she explains.

In the winter, Lori says it’s sometimes taken her even longer to get home — she recalls once leaving the office at 3:30 p.m. and not finishing her trip until 9:00 p.m.

“I’m not complaining, it is what it is and [I’m] nothing but grateful when I arrive back home in my beautiful community of Hatzic Lake.”

Lori gets $500 for her pain, thanks to our partners at Toyo Tires. NEWS 1130 would like to thank everyone who submitted an entry.
