City of Vancouver employees offered counselling after coworker killed on the job

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – City of Vancouver employees are being offered counselling services today after a co-worker was killed on the job Saturday afternoon.
The City of Vancouver is deeply saddened that a workplace fatality of one of our team occurred today.
Our warmest thoughts of sympathy go out to the family, friends and workmates of the staff member.

The fatal accident happened at a work site near Boundary and Second Avenue.
A piece of heavy equipment appears to have rolled down a hill, hitting and killing the victim. Although it’s still not clear how the equipment got loose and the victim has not been identified.
RCMP and WorkSafe BC are investigating.
