Hate group recruitment posters found around northwest Washington

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Evidence of a hate group recruiting close to home has police in Bellingham investigating.

The group, called Patriot Front, has been been described as having white nationalist beliefs. Now, recruiting posters purportedly for the group are showing up in northwest Washington.

Students at Western Washington University in Bellingham found a poster up on campus, triggering an investigation by university police.

Western has responded, saying the school strongly condemns the message of hate that Patriot Front espouses.

This isn’t the only sighting in the area. The Bellingham Herald reports that posters for the group have been found in other Hwy I-5 adjacent cities, including Ferndale, Lynden, and Bellingham’s Fairhaven district.

The Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League both have Patriot Front on their watch lists.
