GRAND FORKS (NEWS 1130) — B.C.’s police watchdog believes prosecutors should consider charges of attempted murder for a Mountie who shot a man during an arrest after a traffic stop in Grand Forks in May of 2018.
The Independent Investigations Office says reasonable grounds exist to believe an officer has committed an offence. Aggravated assault and assault with a weapon charges are also recommended.

The IIO says just before 3:30 p.m. on May 10, officers were working on a traffic stop for calls of an erratic driver.
The victim was shot and arrested after the RCMP says he rammed several police cars — before he was sent to hospital in critical condition.
