Daytime robbery in Surrey forces lockdown of local high school

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – One man is in police custody after an attempted robbery at a bank in Clayton Heights.

It happened just after 3 p.m when the man entered the bank with a knife and demanded money from a teller.

Police were called and police were able to find the suspect and arrest him nearby, and nobody was hurt in the robbery.

Due to the security threat, Clayton Heights Secondary School was temporarily locked down until the suspect was in custody.

Students were safely dismissed a short time later.
