Man arrested after woman found dead in Surrey home

SURREY (NEW 1130) — One man has been arrested after a woman was found dead inside a Surrey home Friday afternoon.
Police were called to 122nd Street and 58th Avenue around 4:30 p.m.
One man is currently in custody.
“The incident was contained to the inside of the residence. Police believe there is no ongoing concern for public safety at this time and that both parties are believed to be known to each other. There is no indication that this incident is related to gang involvement,” says Cpl. Elenore Sturko of Surrey RCMP.

Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit will be working with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
Surrey residents called in to NEWS 1130 Friday afternoon to report multiple police cars speeding through the area with sirens and lights.
Gerardo was in the area where police tape surrounded the home and called NEWS 1130 to tell us what he saw.
“Right after the corner there, because, once you go in, there’s a cul-de-sac. I don’t know if there’s a street name, per se, but the second house seems to be taped.”
“They have […] dogs and it looks busy.”
The road leading up to the building was blocked off Friday evening.
