Pamela Anderson asks Port Moody council to kill roadway through Bert Flinn Park

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Pamela Anderson is focusing her environmental efforts on Port Moody.

The former “Baywatch” actor, who recently moved back to her native British Columbia, has written a letter to the mayor of Port Moody and council, urging them to kill plans to build a road through Bert Flinn Park.

Anderson says the park is home to a variety of animals, including bears, raccoons, coyotes, and barred owls.

“People in BC and around the world have become increasingly concerned about human expansion and deforestation, which kill and displace animals,” Anderson says in the letter. “The issue of Bert Flinn Park so perfectly captures the global struggle between unsustainable development and the ethical imperative to protect nature and its many inhabitants.”

Anderson, who is an honourary director of PETA, sent the letter to Mayor Rob Vagramov ahead of Tuesday’s council meeting. Council is expected to discuss the proposed David Avenue connector, which would cut through the park.
