NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The latest winner in the NEWS 1130 Unsung Hero contest is Hank Brennan of North Vancouver. He was nominated by Steven J. Brennan.

The retired senior has dedicated the past 10 years to Santa’s Recycling for Charity — an organization he created to help families struggling to make ends meet.

The organization collects refundable containers like water bottles, pop cans, juice containers, and liquor bottles to help raise funds. “Hank goes to homes and businesses who have saved their returnables and converts them into gift cards from grocery stores, coffee shops and fast food restaurants,” Steven explains.

Alpine Credits is acknowledging Hank with $500 for his efforts. They’re also donating $1,000 to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.
