VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Bo Horvat is now the 14th player in Canucks history to wear the ‘C’.
He is the first to have the letter on his sweater since Henrik Sedin retired two seasons ago.
This caps months of speculation that Horvat would eventually receive the honour, and before the game Wednesday night remarked at how Sedins handled the leadership role both on and off the ice.
“I think having that comfort level that (other) guys can come to you with anything, and you can be easy to talk to and lead by example on the ice as well. Over the last four years, I’ve learned a ton from Hank and Danny and continue to do so.” Horvat said.
Horvat has scored 98 goals and collected 222 points in his career with the Canucks, spanning six seasons going back to 2014-15.
