Unusual rescue call ends in mystery at Grouse Mountain

By

SQUAMISH (NEWS 1130) – A mysterious call to Grouse Mountain has nothing to do with the ongoing investigation into the Sea to Sky Gondola sabotage, according to RCMP.

On Saturday, crews searched after staff saw someone with a light wandering around in the woods in the dark near the first gondola tower; at first it was moving through the trees, but then it stopped dead.

RCMP and rescue techs searched but only found a LED light bar, like the kind someone would more likely keep in the car or garage than hike with.

With no arrests made following the Sea to Sky destruction, some are wondering if there could be a connection.

However, police are dismissing those fears and say the investigation is closed.
