NDP moving towards major changes for BC Ferries

By

VICTORIA (NEWS 1130) – The NDP government in B.C. is taking steps that could lead to major changes at BC Ferries.

Minister of Transportation, Claire Trevena, will be meeting with stakeholders on Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and on Haida Gwaii in the coming months.

In the new year, the rest of us will have a chance to engage in an online engagement process.

The government is calling it a “vision for the future” which could include passenger-only ferries, and even a new terminal at YVR.

Developing a provincial vision for BC Ferries was a key recommendation made in a provincial review of the semi-private corporation, earlier this year.
