Police seize loaded firearms, handguns and crossbows from Langley home

LANGLEY – (NEWS 1130) – A search warrant conducted at a home in Langley led to the seizure of several weapons as well as stolen property.

Surrey RCMP executed the warrant on October 10th at a home in the area of 202A Street and 74B Avenue.

The warrant was done in relation to an alleged fraud that stemmed from Surrey in early October.

Investigators traced the activity to the Langley home, which was believed to be associated with the fraud scheme.

At the home, police say there was an abundance of evidence suggesting the property was tied to the fraud case, and a number of items were seized.

This includes two loaded firearms, two replica handguns, three crossbows and three sets of body armor. Firearm ammunition, six stolen vehicles as well as swords, and brass knuckles were also taken from the scene.

Sergeant Ed Hryciuk with the Surrey RCMP says he’s pleased with the result, adding taking the weapons off the street will only help keep the public safe.

“This is an example of how a report received from the public can lead to a larger investigation that has a positive outcome for the community.”

Nine people were at the home at the time of the search warrant, and have been released during the investigation.

So far no charges have been laid.
