VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A windstorm that was causing chaos throughout the province is dying down Friday evening.

Notable closures
Stanley Park and the seawall are closed to the public Friday night and an update will be made available Saturday morning.

VanDusen Botanical Garden is closed due to the windstorm, with VanDusen Glow being cancelled Friday evening. The Garden hopes to re-open Saturday at noon.

In West Vancouver, the Centennial Seawalk was closed Friday afternoon due to high winds and possible flooding.
It remained closed Friday night.

Power outages
Power was restored Friday night to most customers in the Lower Mainland. See the latest numbers from BC Hydro here.

Power is expected to remain out overnight Friday for people in some locations in the Interior.

BC Ferries cancellations
BC Ferries cancelled most sailings on the Vancouver to Victoria routes Friday because of adverse weather.
Three round trips between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay were added Friday night for passengers whose daytime trips had been cancelled.
They depart Tsawwassen at:
9:00 pm
10:00 pm
1:00 am
Passengers who want to go from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay will have to wait until Saturday. Same goes for those travelling from Tsawwassen to Duke Point.
