Film crews transform downtown Vancouver for ‘graphic’ post-apocalyptic scene

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Part of downtown Vancouver is undergoing a frightening transformation for filming of an “extensive post-apocalyptic” scene Saturday.

The City Of Vancouver urged people near the intersection of Seymour and Pender to remain calm if they hear gunshots or encounter what appear to be dead bodies

A notice of filming details how traffic will be affected, with temporary closures of Pender, Howe and Hornby Streets.

It also warns pedestrians that they may be stopped if they’re strolling through the area.

“Please note that, due to the nature of our story where 99.9% of the population has died, we will also be restricting pedestrian traffic,” it reads.

The notice also describes some of the jarring sights people can expect to see.

“Content will include but not be limited to: dead bodies littering the street, a corpse hanging from a light pole, accumulated trash and debris, shouting of coarse language, and gunfire directed at our actors.”
