How are you feeling with an extra hour of sleep under your belt?

TORONTO (NEWS 1130) – Daylight Saving Time ended Sunday, pushing Canadians clocks back one hour.

But moving back an hour has its consequences. Studies suggest there are more car crashes and some people tend to get a little sick.

The biggest pro seems to be a little extra sleep.

680 NEWS hit the streets of Toronto to hear what locals had to say. And many were not complaining.

“If we get more time in terms of relaxing, once we have that one extra hour, we can do a lot of things,” one Torontonian says.

“I like that it messes everything up,” another says.

“It kind of just makes life a little bit more fun, keeps people on their toes.”

In British Columbia the provincial government recently tabled legislation that if passed, would see the province move to permanent Daylight Saving Time.

Scholars have been pushing for an end to the practice for years and that could soon happen as B.C. has tabled legislation to stop the time change.

But Premier John Horgan says we’d have to make sure our friends and trading partners in Washington, Oregon and California do the same.

A recent poll in the U.S. found most Americans also want the twice-a-year practice to end.
