TORONTO (680 NEWS) – A 28-year-old man was transported to hospital in critical condition after being stabbed in Mississauga, Ontario on Tuesday.

The Peel Regional Police was called to the scene near Cawthra Road and Queen Elizabeth Way just before 1 p.m. on Nov. 5.

It’s believed the driver of the vehicle the victim was in became involved in a disagreement with another motorist on the highway. Both vehicles pulled over on the off-ramp at Cawthra Road and the victim was stabbed.

It’s unknown if the victim was the driver or passenger in the vehicle.

The suspect fled the scene, but police say they have since arrested a 49-year-old Toronto man in connection with the stabbing.

The victim was rushed to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, but his condition has been upgraded to non-life-threatening.
