NEWS 1130’s Worst Commute winner doubled her commute when she switched to transit

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – This week’s winner in Vancouver’s Worst Commute contest doubled her commute when she had to switch from driving to taking transit.

Tiffany Borojevic, from Surrey, says her daily journey wasn’t too bad when she drove it, but now it takes her up to two hours to get to and from work in Port Coquitlam.

“My commute starts with the 319 taking me to Scott Road SkyTrain,” she says. “From there, I take one stop to Columbia to switch lines to go towards Lougheed. Columbia to Lougheed is three stops, and I have to get off and switch lines again. I take the Evergreen line to Coquitlam Central Station, and then from there I need to take a bus to arrive at work.”

Tiffany says the trip used to take only 45 minutes in the car, and while it now takes two hours, she’s worried it could get even worse when the area gets some snow.

Tiffany gets $500 for this epic back-and-forth commute, thanks to our partners at Toyo Tires. NEWS 1130 would like to thank everyone who submitted an entry.
