Man dies after being Tased by police in Mississauga, Ontario

TORONTO (680 NEWS) – A man is dead after he was Tased by police early Wednesday morning in Mississauga, Ontario.
Peel Regional Police were called to Runningbrooke Drive and Riverspray Crescent, near Tomken Road and Burnhamthorpe Road East, for reports of a disturbance involving a suspicious person just after 3:15 a.m. A passerby had called police.

When police arrived, they found the man in the backyard of the home. He was Tased during an interaction with the officers.
The man was rushed to a local hospital where he died around an hour later.
The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating, as it does in every case where a person is injured in an interaction with police.
