10 SeaBus sailings cancelled Saturday

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – You may want to leave yourself some extra time commuting around the Lower Mainland Saturday, as the Metro Vancouver transit strike continues to drag on.

TransLink says they will be expecting 10 SeaBus cancellations and warns those trying to catch a bus that it may take you longer than usual.

Departures from Lonsdale Quay and Waterfront will be impacted for parts of the afternoon and evening.

Those departing from Lonsdale Quay can expect departures to be every 30 minutes from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

And SeaBus travelers can expect to depart every 30 minutes from Waterfront 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Bus drivers have promised they will shut down service for three full days, as of Wednesday, if no deal is reached between their union and TransLink.

At this point, there are no plans for the union and their employer to head back to the bargaining table.

Although, it’s a different story for the union representing more than 900 SkyTrain workers, who have promised to head back to the table with their employer this weekend.
