Cold but sunny weekend coming for Metro Vancouver

Calm, cool and collected: Sunshine headlines your Friday forecast, with sub-zero temperatures this morning, rebounding to midday highs near plus 4. An encore for Saturday.

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Bundle up – it’s going to be cold in Metro Vancouver over the next few days.

The mercury is expected to dip as low as -5 Celsius over the weekend, while daytime highs will barely crack +5. Saturday will see a very frosty morning, and a high of only 3 degrees.

Friday morning saw a windchill of -10 at Vancouver International Airport, and though it is chilly for this time of year, it’s still drier than usual.

It will stay sunny into Sunday, and the rain returns later next week, with precipitation expected in the lowlands but snow coming for the ski hills.
