New Christmas song featuring Vancouver singer lifts spirits, raises funds

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A Vancouver-based singer is a featured artist on a new Christmas song written by an Academy Award winner.

“Merry Christmas Everybody” is written by Franke Previte who won the 1988 Oscar for “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” — the theme to Dirty Dancing.

Tiffany Desrosiers says she’s proud to be part of it.

“It’s received really positive feedback. There’s a lot of chatter about including it possibly in a Christmas movie and I think it would be a perfect fit for just the ambience of the Christmas holiday feel.”

The UBC graduate says the song also features Grammy-nominated Mark Masri who’s worked with fellow Canadian David Foster and she hopes sales are strong.

“Partial proceeds are going to go for Toys for Tots, so it’s going to support that charity which purchases toys to spread joy to children who are underprivileged.”

Desrosiers, who’s originally from Saskatchewan, has been living in Vancouver since she was six years old.

The song is available at RadioTV.com.
