Alex Fraser counterflow will be done by end of year: B.C. gov’t

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – If you’re looking forward to counterflow at the Alex Fraser Bridge, you don’t have to wait much longer. The B.C. government says it’s on track to complete the project before the end of the year.

New signs and structures have been going up on the bridge over the last few weeks, and testing of electronic signs is underway right now.

Once counterflow is good to go, it will be possible to have four lanes northbound in the morning, and four lanes southbound in the afternoon. Right now, it’s four lanes south and three lanes north.

The project is behind schedule, as it was initially set to be done by the start of September.
