Coquihalla reopens to northbound traffic after crash

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – It was a no go this morning if you were trying to get through the Coquihalla northbound between Hope and Merritt.
A major crash had Highway 5 shut down in that direction for hours, with emergency crews on scene.
Police say one man in his 20s was killed when he crashed into a semi-truck that was pulled over.

Drivers took Highway 3 or Highway 1 as alternate routes before the pass re-opened at around 12:30 p.m.
This comes after Highway 1 was closed in both directions north of Yale because of a rock slide on the route. That has also since been cleared.
