VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A new holiday album by Chantal Kreviazuk is a labour of love featuring her husband and their 11-year-old son.
The 10 track album titled Christmas Is A Way of Life, My Dear showcases her son Sal’s singing on “The Christmas Train.”
He also joins his mom on a cover of the Paul McCartney classic “Wonderful Christmas Time.”
“It wasn’t stressful at all! It was easy and it was fun,” says the 11-year-old.
Singing runs in the family.
Kreviazuk’s husband, Raine Maida, heads up the band Our Lady Peace and joins her for a rendition of “Blue Christmas.”
“Sal just really gravitates toward making music, especially singing. Sal’s thing is definitely singing. So he was definitely in his element,” Kreviazuk says.
The singer is integrating holiday tunes into her tour–which made several stops in the Vancouver area–but is also playing fan favourites.
“They feel lovely to play live so that’s been wonderful,” she says. “It’s just really fun, it’s been a good show.”
The last B.C date on the tour is Thursday night in North Vancouver. After that, it moves east to Manitoba and wraps up in Ontario on Dec. 19.
