TSAWWASSEN (NEWS 1130) – High winds have put a stop to a couple of sailings by one BC Ferries vessel Thursday afternoon.
Two sailings between Tsawwassen to Duke Point have been cancelled, both of which were scheduled with the same vessel.
Cancelled sailings:
- 3:15 p.m. departing Tsawwassen (Vancouver)
- 5:45 p.m. departing Duke Point (Nanaimo)
Deborah Marshall with BC Ferries says the Queen of New Westminster cannot sail in these conditions.
“At this point, this is the only cancellation we have on our major routes. Apparently the weather is supposed to blow through, so we are optimistic about sailing that vessel for 8:15 p.m.,” she says. “We will have to keep checking the weather though.”
