Man dead, RCMP looking for suspects after shooting outside Red Deer Walmart

RED DEER (NEWS 1130) – Alberta RCMP say a man has died in hospital after a shooting Friday evening at a Walmart in Red Deer Alberta.
Mounties say a 69-year old man was shot near the entrance of the store in the central Alberta city’s south end around 6:45 p.m. and was taken to hospital in critical condition.
This evening, a 69-year-old male was fatally shot in what appears to be a targeted incident at the South Red Deer Walmart. The scene will be barricaded as members conduct the investigation. If you have any information on this incident, call the Red Deer RCMP at 403-391-4034.

Investigators say they believe the victim was targeted and that there is no further danger to the general public.
Although they believe there was only one shooter, they are looking for two vehicles of interest that were spotted leaving the scene.
Mounties say there were no other injuries.
The City of Red Deer has asked residents to avoid the area while police investigate the shooting.
Red Deer is located about halfway between Calgary and Edmonton.
