As the year comes to an end, Palmer says he wants to thank those who have supported the department.
“On behalf of the Vancouver Police Department, all our sworn officers and civilian professionals, I want to wish you and your families all the best for a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday season.”
Palmer adds the department has been “honoured” keeping locals as safe as possible.
Through 2019, the VPD has responded to 267,000 calls, estimating to about 740 calls per day, according to the department.
During the holiday season, the VPD reminds Vancouverites they will be out in full force during the peak of this Holiday season.
Police departments from Surrey, West Vancouver and New Westminster are a few of the stations also spreading the Christmas joy wishing you a “Merry Christmas” and “Happy Holidays.”
