NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — The gondolas, grizzly bears and ski slopes of Grouse Mountain are being sold, again.

Just two years after being bought by investors, the tourist attraction is being sold to Northlands Properties Corporation which is run by the prominent, B.C-based Gaglardi family.

“With our strong family and company roots in Vancouver BC, we are excited with the opportunity to make this acquisition,” said Tom Gaglardi, President & CEO in a news release. “We look forward to working closely with the existing team and leadership group, as well the community to ensure we maintain and evolve the iconic Grouse Mountain experience for all of our visitors.”

Mountain spokesperson Julie Grant echoes the sentiment.

“We know they’re a company with strong local roots and we’re looking forward to working with them,” she says. “We know they’re a service-focused organization, and have lots of experience through their hotels and restaurants.”

She says she isn’t anticipating any major changes to staffing or leadership.

The Gaglardi family also owns Revelstoke Mountain Resort and a heli-skiing operation in the Selkirk Mountains.

Terms of the deal are still under wraps but it is expected to be finalized by the end of January.
