Canadian military personnel are 'safe & accounted for' following missile attacks in Iraq

OTTAWA (NEWS 1130) – Canadian military personnel are ‘safe & accounted for’ following missile attacks in Iraq says Canadian Armed Forces Chief of Defence Staff.

Early Wednesday, Tehran launched at least 10 missiles at Iraq’s Ain Assad Air Base housing U.S. troops over America’s killing of top Iranian general, Qassem Soleimani.

CAF Chief of Defence Staff Jonathan Vance tweeted Tuesday evening assuring there were no Canadian troops impacted by the missiles launched.

“I can assure you that all deployed CAF personnel are safe & accounted for following missile attacks in Iraq,” Vance’s tweet read.

“We remain vigilant.”

There’s no word yet on possible American casualties.
