VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Reports overseas have identified the driver of a Share Now smart car that ran a red light and plowed into taxi cab in Vancouver late last month, killing the driver.

According to The Irish-Sun, Gary Holohan, 29, from Ireland, is believed to have been behind the wheel when the crash happened near the intersection of 1st Avenue and Renfew Street on Dec. 29.

Vancouver police have said they think the driver had evaded a police road-check before the crash.

Officers also think speed and alcohol may have been factors.

Holohan was also injured in the crash and Sanehpal Singh Randhawa, who had been working for Yellow Cab for around 3 years, was killed in the collision.
