Avalanche control to shut down Coquihalla between Hope, Merritt

HOPE (NEWS 1130) – Heads up if you’re off to the Interior today.
Parts of the Coquihalla are going to be shut down between Hope and Merritt for avalanche control.
The province says the work will target areas south of the Great Bear Snowshed to just north of the summit. The closure will take place from 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. between Exit 202 and Exit 228, covering off a stretch of about 25 kilometres.
Both directions will be closed during that time, so if you can’t make other arrangements and need to get through, make sure you have another route planned.
