Burnaby RCMP seize dangerous weapons while pulling over speeding drivers

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) – Some quick work by Mounties in Burnaby has seen a number of dangerous weapons taken off the street.
According to the RCMP, a speeding vehicle with three men inside had been stopped by the detachment’s community response team when one of them told the officers he was carrying a knife.
A search found the knife and a can of bear spray but after giving the weapons up, the men were allowed to go.
Just a few hours later, RCMP stopped a different speeding vehicle on Kingsway and discovered the car’s owner had a criminal history.
A search of the men inside the car turned up a knife and a replica airsoft pistol.
In that case, police seized the weapons and the men were also allowed to leave.
