VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130 — BC Ferries has cancelled sailings on some routes Thursday due to wind.

These cancellations are the latest in a series that have stymied travellers to the Island over the last week.

BC Ferries made the call to cancel all sailings on major routes Sunday, but announced the cancellations in stages stranding some hopeful passengers at terminals in Vancouver and Victoria for hours.

Monday morning saw a scramble to catch-up. Things went back to normal Tuesday but anyone planning to travel after 3 p.m. Wednesday was faced with another wave of cancellations.

Sailings out of Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay are proceeding with minimal delays Thursday morning.
