DAWSON CREEK (NEWS 1130) — Thousands of dollars have been raised to help a Saint Bernard named Brownie, who was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Brownie was brought to the SPCA in Dawson Creek earlier this week, and doctors think he was shot a week or two ago, with the bullet fragment remaining in his leg.
Brownie was found with a gunshot wound that was festering for 1-2 weeks! This beautiful boy needs extensive surgery to remove the bullet fragments embedded deep in his shattered leg. Please help him by donating today: https://t.co/0LG6BQMSof#BCSPCA #donate pic.twitter.com/lPhkc7RABw

It will take specialized surgery to remove the pieces, and he will also need to be treated for an extreme flea infestation.
Despite being shot and left out in harsh conditions, Brownie is a very friendly dog and will be available for adoption in two months once he’s fully recovered from his surgery.
The SPCA’s goal was to raise about $6,000, but Brownie has since received over $15,000.
