Six dead puppies dumped at Richmond hotel

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) — A box of dead puppies was found outside a busy hotel Saturday night, leaving staff horrified.

Richmond RCMP were called, as well as the Regional Animal Protection Society.

“It’s very disturbing, shocking. This is not something that we like hearing about,” says CEO Eyal Lichtmann.

He says if someone was unable to care for the puppies, they should have come to his organization for help.

At this time, the person responsible and the reason why are unknown, and the investigation will be turned over to the BC SPCA.

“We can speculate 100 different reasons why people could do it. There’s lots of terrible things that happen in the animal world on an–unfortunately–regular basis. That’s why we exist, to speak for animals that can’t speak for themselves,” Lichtmann says.

The puppies were so young, Lichtmann says he could not identify what breed they were.
