Two missing men found dead in Sooke, search still on for third

SOOKE (NEWS 1130)  — The search for a missing man who hasn’t been seen in two days on southern Vancouver Island is set to resume at first light on Monday.

This comes after a tragic end for two other young men he was believed to be with over the weekend.

“The bodies of two individuals, believed to be two of the missing men have been recovered. The identities have not been confirmed at this time,” RCMP Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in an email, adding the vehicle the three men were in was located near Sooke River Road on Sunday.

“The BC Coroners Service is also investigating to determine who died, and how, where, when and by what means they came to their death.”

The search for the third man continues with the help of Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue.

Victoria Weber of Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue says hundreds of people turned out to help in the search on Sunday, assisted by a helicopter, ATVs and boats scouring the shoreline.

Police said in an earlier news release that Cory Mills, Eric Blackmore and AJ Jensen, all 20 years old, were last seen at a home in Sooke, B.C., late Friday night.

The men were in a 2004 blue Dodge Dakota and it was unclear where they were going.
