SUN PEAKS (NEWS 1130) — A 14-year-old boy who went missing after he went out for a day of snowboarding at Sun Peaks has been found.

Carson Hadwin went missing on Sunday after he took the shuttle up in the morning, but failed to catch the ride back down to Kamloops in the afternoon.

He apparently went out of bounds while snowboarding. The Kamloops RCMP says he was found near an old shed on the mountain.

Carson was taken to hospital by helicopter Monday morning, but later released.

Salmon Arm and Shuswap search and rescue teams, the RCMP, and some volunteers arrived on scene to aid in the efforts Sunday evening, and crews had also been out with dogs.

The teen’s grandfather and uncle also searched for him overnight.
