Three young men went missing on Friday after leaving a home in Sooke

Two bodies as well as the vehicle they were last seen in were recovered from a river Sunday

Police say they do not suspect foul play

SOOKE (NEWS 1130) — The search for three missing men has now ended, as police on Vancouver Island have recovered a third body near Sooke Tuesday.

Three young men were seen leaving a house on Friday evening, and when none of them returned home a search was launched.

Hundreds joined RCMP and Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue in their efforts to find the three men.

Two bodies as well as the vehicle they were last seen in were recovered from a river Sunday.

RCMP say the deaths are not likely the result of “criminality,” adding the BC Coroner’s service is still determining what caused the men to die.

Our thoughts are with the families of all three of the victims and all those who have been and are impacted by this terribly tragic event, states Sgt. Brett Sinden of the Sooke RCMP. We would like to thank all the volunteers who have assisted in the search over the course of the last few days.

Police are not identifying the men but a previous release indicates they were searching for Cory Mills, Eric Blackmore and AJ Jensen, all 20 years old.
