VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Cancellations on the West Coast Express will continue Friday morning.

Ongoing protests in support of Wet’suwet’en opposition to the LNG pipeline began blocking tracks Thursday afternoon, halting all trains leaving Vancouver.

“Protestors are currently blocking Canadian Pacific tracks on the Pitt River Rail Bridge and we are unable to move trains, conduct necessary maintenance safety checks, and perform routine inspections this evening,” says a release from TransLink sent Thursday evening.

TransLink says a bus bridge will be set up to help people travelling between Mission and Coquitlam Centre SkyTrain station.
